Kaposvár castle in the 15th century

Kaposvár formed at the feet of the Zselic mountain range, on the banks of the river Kapos, in a strategically important marshland. First its donjon was built from bricks in the 14th century. Afterwards the inner wall and the palace were erected. The building was rebuilt several times during the 15th century: an outer brick wall and new towers were added. Thus came to be the majestic brick castle that can only be seen in unremarkable ruins today, reminding us of its glorious past. This period, more precisely the end of the 15th century is recalled by our theoretical reconstruction, which was created along István Molnár’s scientific research, and the 3D model of Gergely Buzás.
