Nógrád castle
We made the theoretical reconstruction model of Nógrád castle in the XVII. century for an image film presenting the historical and natural treasures of Bánk and its region. Hungary’s oldest stone castle with an irregular floor plan and internal turrets also boasted Renaissance buildings assumably connectable to the work of the Dalmatian master builder Jacobus Tragurinus or the court architect of King Mátyás Hunyadi, Giovanni Dalmata. The castle, which changed owners several times during the Turkish era, was destroyed by a gunpowder explosion caused by a lightning strike. Its remains became the victim of errosion. The professional preparation of the reconstruction model was made by Gábor Nagy.
