Reconstruction versions of Marcus Aurelius statues

The Pazirik team and the Janus Pannonius Museum, with the involvement of Réka Neményi, decided to undertake an experimental project in which, based on the available analogies, we created a pair of Marcus Aurelius statues, one of which is an equestrian statue, while the other is a standing emperor statue. Their special feature is that the head on both can be changed using a magnetic solution, the model of which was the Dunaszekcső find. They were placed in the permanent exhibition The Spirit of the Place – Genius Loci.
